As part of the renovation the complex also added a palm-shaded picnic area with gas grills and picnic tables. The newly renovated heated Gulf front pool catches the ocean breezes. It's surrounded with a paver deck and plenty of lounge chairs for relaxing and soaking up the sun.

We are sited at the elbow of Sanibel Island, perfect for catching sunrises and sunsets. With limited development on either side and sited at the end of a road that winds through conservation land, you'll truly feel you've arrived at a special sanctuary away from life's busyness.

The on site office is open most days from 9 AM to 4 PM and friendly staff look forward to greeting you and helping you make the most of your Sanibel getaway. They can answer questions, solve problems, rent bikes from the on-site rental rack, and share in your adventures. Ocean's Reach also has the top rated tennis court on the island and lessons from a pro can be arranged through the office. A new shuffleboard court and basketball and ball are also available.

In addition to miles of public beaches, Sanibel has three golf courses, a variety of restaurants, grocery stores and plenty of upscale shopping. Known fro its commitment to the Old FLorida lifestyle, Sanibel is laid back, friendly and focused on conservation. Indeed, more than half of Sanibel is wildlife sanctuary or conservation land and off limits to development. The result is a rich wildlife environment of particular interest to birders. The J.N. "Ding" Darling Wildlife Refuge is the premier example and its associated Bailey Tract and Tarpon Bay Preserve offer other opportunities. Other recreation opportunities include the miles of bike paths which can be accessed directly from Ocean's Reach. The kayak trails on adjoining Captiva Island have been rated tops in the country. Fishing, sailboarding, shelling and other outdoor pleasures are available.
